Persian Rugs
Persian rugs have a long and rich history. They were first made during ancient times. There are indications that Persian rugs were around during B.C. times. The oldest known “Pazuryk Carpet” that was made in the 5th century is considered a Persian rug.
Over time Persian rugs have changed a lot. Some time around the sixth century Persian rugs began to be made ut of wool or silk and they were held in high regard. Royalty was known to have Persian rugs because they were intricately sculpted rugs that could not typically be bought by peasants.
Persian rugs hail from Iran and buying Persian rugs from Iran is still a costly endeavor. However, springing for a Persian rug from Iran guarantees a high standard of production. There are many manufacturers that claim that they sell Persian rugs but only a handful of them have authentic Persian rugs.
There are a lot of carpet companies that sell Persian rugs that were made in China or India. These are not authentic Persian rugs but can usually be bought for less. Most people just want beautiful Persian rugs and some of imitations can bring this goal to life.
However, there are ways to tell authentic Persian rugs from other rugs. The quality of the rugs is one of those factors. The tighter the carpet is woven, that better quality it is. The level of wool that is used and the color of the rug also play into the quality of the rug.
Whether or not Persian rugs are antique, semi-antique, old or new is also another factor that will determine that quality of rug. The price will be higher for both the new rugs and the antique rugs.
The size of Persian rugs also will greatly effect the price. There are three different sizes of Persian rugs. Zaronim, Dozar and Zarcarak Persian rugs are available. The rugs are based on the metric system. Persian rugs that are made according to the standard meters of Persian rugs will be pricey.
The type of material that Persian rugs are made out of also will affect the price and longevity of the rug. Silk Persian rugs, of course, are the priciest Persians. After silk wool Persian rugs are the next in line when it comes to price.
What color Persian rug is it? Synthetic rugs are going to be cheaper than natural colored ones. Most Persian rugs today are dyed.
